Omaha Storm Chasers

While Gary and I were in Iowa we knew we had to see a Storm Chasers game. G wanted to get their hat because he collects hats and didn't have their hat. (He has every SINGLE MLB hat, and most minor league teams. He only gets their hat if he goes to that ballpark.) They changed their logo a few years ago. We jokingly say it's a cute pissed off tornado. Yes, my husband thinks things are cute. I think I'm wearing off on him. Hope he doesn't get mad at me for posting this. ;)

We had a challenge getting to the stadium as it's not near the main road. I don't know what it is about seeing a ballpark from a distance that gets me so excited for the game but I love it. Especially if it's a new stadium because its new and I want to see what it's like. I don't know how to explain it.

We parked and grabbed tickets. My favorite thing about getting tickets was Gary said I don't care where we sit, but you need to talk to her. She's the boss. I love it. Walking up to the stadium was a surreal experience. The stadium is a clean, slick stadium with tons of lush landscape. It reminded Gary a lot like Arizona.

Here are some pictures before entering the stadium:

Once in the stadium the very first thing we always have to do is get a program. It was my lucky day because they had a special. I got a seat cushion, program, and pen for $6. Words can not describe how excited I was for this. I'm not sure Gary's family knew what to expect. I was like a little kid in a candy store. Literally. :)

Before we find our seats I had to write the starting line ups in my program.

After we did that, we found our seats. We got some amazing seats. Here is a view from our seats.  We got seats in the Jim Beam club. It was nice because we got an "upgrade."  These seats got us inside the club (air conditioning.. yay) or in our seats. (In the hot, burning sun...boo)

After the first inning, Gary and I decided that we would walk around the stadium. We love walking around stadiums seeing what promotions and layouts work for their stadium and how we can apply at our current job or save. I think all people who work in sports think like this.

We went to the game the Sunday prior to July 4th. I love this design.

The first thing that caught my eye is the banners throughout the stadium of the mascots.

In left field was absolutely the coolest thing I have ever seen. AT&T had a charging booth. I love it, and even tried it with my iPhone. It worked.

In the center field is a little bar called DownDaught. It's a bar in the outfield.  It's a cool concept but it was too hot to be outdoors like that. Next to that was  a basketball court. Next to that was a waffle ball field.
For those of you who don't know much about baseball. Each ballpark has a batters eye. This is a place where it's just grass. No distractions for the batters. The Omaha Storm Chasers did a unique spin on that. For this ballpark, it's where the bullpens are located.

Here's a view from deep center. Warner Park is a stadium that you can walk all the way around. I love parks that this because you can see all the views of the ballpark.
This is the view from top of the McDonald's berg. Gary and I both noticed how the outfield make a liver shape. I have never seen anything like this.

Finally heading back to our seats we find 4 original seats from Rosenblatt Stadium.

Overall, it was a great time. I love seeing new ballparks and spending time with family. If you are ever in the Omaha area, I HIGHLY recommend this ballpark.
