Visitng the College World Series Stadiums

On Sunday, Gary's family and I went to Omaha for the day. We came up to Iowa for the week to surprise his mom and to see family. We actually visited 3 stadiums that day. The first stadium on our trip was Rosenblatt Stadium.

All of us are HUGE baseball fans. We all wanted to see a new stadium. Gary also wanted to get a new hat because they recently changed logos. We call their logo "the pissed off tornado."

This is where the College World Series use to be played.

Before the moved, I went to Rosenblatt only once. It was unreal experience.  I don't remember much of the game. I know we sat in GA around the third base side.

Next stadium: T.D. AmeriTrade Park, the New College World Series stadium. We didn't get to see much inside the stadium, but around the stadium was amazing. We got to see the 8 flags of this year's teams. Gary is still on his kick of rooting for the PAC 12. (I LOVE the SEC and bummed South Carolina didn't win a 3peat.)

Around the stadium is a restaurant called Blatt. Gary and I wanted to eat there, but we got overruled. We also ran around the whole stadium since we couldn't go inside. This the view from Gate 3. We made a vow to each other to come back to watch the College World Series.

One of other favorite things from T.D. AmeriTrade park is out front is this statue. They brought it over from Rosenblatt. It was amazing to see. Gary and I couldn't stop talking about how amazing it was and how excited we were to be watching baseball.

Below are all plaques from past years winners. It was amazing to walk to each one and see the winners. Gary loved seeing Southern California and their dynasty. Me on the other hand loved seeing the SEC teams.

  2. We have been there! When I lived in Nebraska, I got to go to the College World Series... Okay, one of the games of the entire series the entire six years we lived there. It was always a huge deal. :) Great photos Jess!

  3. Huge baseball fan here too! My husband & I are planning to get to a state with high recruit rate when the kiddos get older. I'd just love for them to play (of course if they don't that's okay too).
